The hardest part about this tour is deciding what to do! It’s very flexible, so riders can choose, according to their skills or interest, or even the weather, what they should do and where they should go. There are lots of riding options in the mountains, valleys and river banks nearby, and at the end of each day the Hotel Eldhestar offers the comfort of a hot pot, good dinner, soft beds and private bathrooms, plus the conviviality of a chat in the bar.
You’ll have to pick from among the following possibilities:
* An exciting ride through the undulating valley of Reykjadalur with its unusual rock formations and many steaming hot springs where we also bathe in a gentle geothermal stream.
* A relaxing ride along the mountains Reykjafjall and Ingólfsfjall before lunch. In the afternoon we go to the health center for massage and/or and relaxing baths.
* A comfortable ride down to the river Ölfusá, towards the charming river delta. We ride through a local bird sanctuary, where we can get a closer look at a variety of Icelandic birds.
* An interesting ride into the narrow, geothermal valley Grensdalur, noted for its colourful and unusual mineral and mountain formations.
There is a visit to the spa included in the price of the tour and arrangements are easily made for more visits.
During your stay you can also enjoy great spa amenities through the medically certified national health clinic in Hveragerði. Here you can choose between a variety of spa treatments such as massage, healing mud and water treatments, steam sauna, swimming and much more.

Dates, Prices and Useful Details
This ride, which is available as a 5 or 6 day tour, with three or four riding days, runs every day from January 8 until December 18 and can be joined on any day that there is room at the farm. Riders will arrive in Iceland, have a day in Reykjavik then be taken to the outfitters farm for overnight, so you’ll be ready to ride the next morning when the tour starts. You’ll ride for the allotted number of days, have a last night at Hotel Eldhestar and be returned to Reykjavik the next morning, where you’ll have the day to explore, spend the night in a comfortable hotel before leaving for home the next day. Here’s how the four day tour works - if you choose to arrive in Iceland on a Monday morning, you could see a bit of Reykjavik that day, spend Monday night at the farm, ride Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, return to Reykjavik Saturday morning, and leave on Sunday. This is a great tour to use at the start or end a great Iceland adventure!
